Mrs. Chan is a dedicated educator whose lifelong passion for languages began during her bilingual childhood in the UK, leading to fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese, and Thai. Since starting her career in 2002, she has taught learners of all ages across Taiwan, Japan, and Thailand, supported by a PGCE, an MA in Education from the University of Nottingham, and a Postgraduate Diploma in TESOL from Sheffield University. Her teaching philosophy centres on creating enjoyable, engaging lessons that foster confident communication, a love of reading, and essential life skills. Outside the classroom, Mrs. Chan is a passionate advocate for sustainability and green living who enjoys music and traveling with her family.

Miss Upshall is originally from England and holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from Plymouth University, along with a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of Southampton. She has taught in schools across England and Malaysia for the last 10 years.
She has experience teaching students from Year 7 to Year 13 and is passionate about making mathematics engaging, accessible, and enjoyable. She encourages curiosity, deep understanding, and a love of problem-solving through puzzles and exploration.
Outside the classroom, she is an enthusiastic traveller who enjoys discovering new cultures, trying local food, and capturing wildlife through photography. She also loves hiking and reading.

Y9B | HOLLY GREENWOOD
Prior to completing her PGCE, Miss Greenwood studied English Literature and Language at university. She has a Masters in Teaching and Learning and an NPQ in Leading Teaching, which she completed alongside her teaching practice in England.
During her career, Miss Greenwood has enjoyed helping pupils achieve excellent outcomes across the secondary age range, including sixth form. She is a senior GCSE examiner and has led on literacy and curriculum in her practice to drive engagement and achievement. As an educator, Miss Greenwood helps pupils maintain a lasting enthusiasm for learning and school life.
When she is not teaching, Miss Greenwood can be found relaxing with a good book, or seeking out cultural, historical and natural wonders with her family.

Y9C | JAMES HOLLINGSWORTH
Mr Hollingsworth holds a BSc in Sport and Exercise Sciences from Roehampton University. His passion for sport and education led him to become a PE teacher, where he focuses on creating a positive, inclusive environment that promotes teamwork, wellbeing, and confidence in all students.
He has been living in Thailand and working at DBS for the past four years, enjoying the opportunity to work within an international school environment and contribute to the wider school community.
Outside the classroom, he stays active through football, the gym, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He also enjoys exploring Thailand with friends and family - and rarely misses a UFC weekend.

Y9D | ABDUS SABUR
Mr Abdus is originally from the small city of Stoke-on-Trent in England, situated between Manchester and Birmingham. He has been teaching Mathematics since 2011, beginning his career in the UK before moving to the UAE in 2013. He is passionate about developing conceptual understanding in Mathematics and helping students become confident problem solvers who can apply their learning beyond the classroom. Throughout his career, he has worked with students from a wide range of abilities and backgrounds, creating engaging and supportive learning environments that encourage curiosity, resilience and independence. Outside of school, Mr Abdus enjoys playing football and going to the gym.
