Guidelines: Independent Learning should -
Focus on quality over quantity.
Be clear and precise with its purpose.
Have degrees of accessibility and challenge.
Extension tasks should be specified.
Should have reasonable deadlines - Y7-11 this would typically be 7 days. For Y12 to 13, these deadlines are determined by the requirements of the course.
Include reading to broaden a student’s vocabulary.
Please note, due to the structure of the Sixth Form timetable and to encourage greater independence, independent learning for Years 12 and 13 can be set at any time with the general expectation that it will be complete within 5 working days. Feedback on independent learning can be expected within the same timeframe.
