Dr. Mira Kushal
She is the senior-most faculty of the Department of Biochemistry, Deshbandhu College. She did Masters in Biochemistry from Punjab University, Chandigarh in 1974. She did her doctoral studies from IIT Delhi in 1982. Prior to joining Deshbandhu College, she worked in Lady Harding's Medical college from 1978 to 1988.
She joined the College and established departmental setup as the founder faculty member in 1988. She taught many subjects including Carbohydrate and Lipid Metabolism, Molecular Biology and Immunology. After 26 years of academic service, she superannuated in the year 2014. At her retirement, she kindly donated funds to be incurred for publication of departmental magazine and Nirmal-Gian Parkash Award for students.
Besides being an accomplished academician, she is a skilled classical dancer par excellence.
She had been a faculty member at Department of Biochemistry, Deshbandhu College since 1989. She did her Bachelors from Punjab University in 1972 and Masters and Ph.D. from Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar, Haryana. Prior to joining Deshbandhu College, she served as Assistant Professor in Biochemistry at Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar, Haryana from 1979-1988. Her teaching subjects included Cell Biology, Proteomics and Enzymology.
In year 2009, she was appointed as Principal, Shivaji College, University of Delhi (2009-2020). She also served as Director (Officiating) of Institute of Life Long Learning, University of Delhi (Jan 2020-Feb 2020). She has won several awards and has academic and administrative accomplishments to her credit.
Dr. Rajni Jain
She had been a faculty member at Department of Biochemistry, Deshbandhu College since 1991 and superannuated on 31st Dec 2022. Dr. Rajni Jain was a affectionate, enthusiastic and knowledgeable faculty and devoted her tenure for the well being of the students and institution. She had mastery in the field of enzymes, physiology, metabolism, molecular biology. She served as convener and member of various committees and helped in progress of the acdemia.
