By now, you have probably noticed that we are big on communication here at TDC. We try to respond to all inquiries within 72 hours and never leave a query unanswered.
In 2025, we started the transition to an email-free company to streamline our office productivity. We are continuing this effort in 2026. This means we will be sending out very few emails. We will continue to email only vital account information upon registering for classes in a new season (class confirmation & tuition fees). All other information will be relayed through our BAND groups.
We encourage all of our families not to send us emails. Please reach out using one of the options listed below instead.
BAND App
The BAND app is the ONLY place we will be sending out/posting studio and class information. Having only ONE place to find information will make it easier for families to find information when they need it. Scroll down to read how the band app works and how to join.
To communicate with us in the BAND groups, you can comment on posts or reach out via the private chat option in any of the groups.
Parent Portal (Dancestudio-pro)
You would have received a login email to your portal account after you registered for classes. If you need to reset or have forgotten the password just reach out to us via phone or text message and we can reset it for you.
Your parent portal is where you can do the following things:
View your class schedule
View your dancer's attendance
Submit class absences
Order merchandise & uniform items
Book workshops (offered throughout the year)
Message us (only through the app - listed below)
We highly encourage you to download the software app onto your phone and set up your notifications to your liking. Should you miss a notification, the software will send you an email reminder to check your account.

In the infrequent case of urgent information (for example, unexpected class cancellations or emergency events), we will send an SMS and/or telephone to all families. So, for this reason, please make sure the mobile phone number you have provided to the studio is correct and up-to-date.
In Office
Want to chat with us face to face? We would love to see you visit our office during office hours! Our office is attended from 3:30-7:00 pm Monday-Friday and 9:00 am - 2:30 pm on Saturdays.
We use the BAND app to communicate with families and students in each class. We post important dates, notices, events, reminders, and special shop deals in the BAND groups. You can also interact with us by commenting or chatting via the app.
How to BAND
STEP 1
Option A
● Using a web browser go to band.us/home
● Click the Sign Up button to create an account. If you already have an account then login instead.
Option B
● Using a phone or tablet, go to your store such as Google Play or Apple App store
● Search the store for BAND - App for all groups (Icon is bright green)
● Download the app to your device
● Open the app and follow the prompts to create your account
Do NOT use the Kid's BAND app. (This app is too restrictive for us to use) All TDC BAND groups are private and managed by our admin and teacher teams.
Note: Please ensure you use a first and last name in your profile. We won’t accept accounts with only one name due to security reasons. (If you are using the Google, Facebook or Apple login options, please note that it will pull your profile name information from those sources. You may need to adjust your name in those accounts to show correctly on your BAND profile)
STEP 2
Once you have set up your BAND account, join the class bands for each class that your children attend (view next section below).
To receive all of the studio announcements and information please make sure you are in the TDC 2026 group and your corresponding Academy groups.
Notifications
Set your notifications to your own liking or schedule a time to check the band regularly to make sure you are up to date with what is going on at TDC. It is your responsibility to adhere to the deadlines that we announce in the BAND groups.
Practice makes progress! Students who practice their dance skills outside of class progress quicker, feel improvement faster and enjoy their classes more. As for performing on stage, practice is very important for the student to feel confident and for them to enjoy their performance.
Having a well practised routine will ensure that the student can then focus on the performance aspect of their routine, smiling and expressing emotion whilst doing the choreography. Students who have practised their routine well, will have more confidence on stage and enjoy the performance more as they will be able to focus on what they are feeling as they dance and not just thinking about what step comes next.
Each student is an individual and will have difficulties with different styles or sections of dances and therefore practice time between students will vary. We suggest that each student should commit a minimum of 10 minutes a week per dance style. This could be 5 minutes a day or split up into a big practice on certain days. It does help if it's scheduled into their weekly activities calendars.
We provide a free at-home practice companion, which will include class videos of choreography and exercises as well as their routine music to use at home. Follow the steps above to create a BAND account if you don't have one. For dancer's we suggest you download the app to the device they will be using and have access to it when wanting to practice. We find it's best if dancers have their own account. Parents can also join the class BANDS to view videos and interact with the class group.

All of our skills classes including Acro have a certain set of skills that each dancer must complete before they move up to the next level. Skills are tracked in class on a skills sheet. Parents can view at any time their child's progress in those classes, just click on the link in the notes section of the dancer in your parent portal.
Dancers must complete a minimum of 30 hours of a skills class before they can move to the next level.
Note: this only applies to Acro classes and Skills classes.
All of our acro dancers have complimentary access to the Acrobatic Arts My Acro App. We will share their current level of skills that they are working on. There are videos of each skill as well as technical points to be aware of. We find this is especially helpful for our younger dancers and their parents who want to know exactly what they "should" be practicing.
How to My Acro App
Go to your app store and search for My Acro App. (The icon is light blue and the developer is Acrobatic Arts)
Download it onto the device your child is going to use it on.
Bring that device to the studio and to the office or teacher. They will share the appropriate level with you.
