Recital: Saturday, December 5, 2026.
Additional rehearsals may be scheduled for students ages 10 and older at the discretion of the teacher/choreographer. Parents and students will be notified of additional rehearsals at least two weeks in advance.
All students have the opportunity to participate in our annual recital to be held at the Concourse Theatre in Chatswood on Saturday, December 5th, 2026. Participation in the recital is optional, and we must be notified by June 1st, 2026 if you choose not to participate. Please note that all students must participate in the mandatory dress rehearsal (Monday, November 30th) in order to perform in the recital. There are no exceptions to this policy.
The recital offers our students a professionally directed performance that allows them to present the results of a year’s hard work, dedication, and progress to their families and friends.
A big part of dance training includes learning through performance. Although performance opportunities can help prepare some students for a possible career in dance, they also contribute to children’s success in non-dance activities. The experience helps build self-esteem and confidence, which can result in better in-school presentations, improved social skills, and strong university and job interview skills. The rehearsal process is a tremendous learning experience as well. It helps the children develop retention skills, and by working with their classmates on a group performance, they learn the positive aspects of working as a team to create the best end result.
Students in the Elementary, Intermediate, Senior & Advanced Academies (School years 3 and above) will have the opportunity to participate in the recital finale routine. This routine is a large production routine which is choreographed outside of normal class time. Participation in the finale routine requires extra rehearsals, a costume, and an extra rehearsal fee. Please inform us by the June 1st deadline if you will not be participating in the finale. All finale participants will receive an exclusive souvenir recital t-shirt.
We distribute a recital handbook with all the information parents and students need to know to make the recital experience enjoyable for all. It is imperative you read through the entire handbook. Please mark important dates into your calendars.
We spend many hours determining the correct costumes for each class. They are always age appropriate and of the highest quality possible. Preschool students will need one costume; all other students will need one costume for each dance form they train in. Costumes include all accessories (hats, gloves, etc.), but do not include shoes or tights.
In an effort to ensure that costumes are delivered in time for the dress rehearsals and show we order costumes between June and July. Costume manufacturers do not accept cancellations or offer refunds; therefore the school does not refund costume deposits once costumes have been ordered.
Costume fees will be included in your recital package and are yours to keep.
Tickets for the annual recital will go on sale at the Concourse Theatre box office. The performance is reserved seating, and anyone requiring a seat will need to purchase a ticket.
No one is admitted to the recital without a ticket. Infants and children who may have difficulty remaining seated during the entire performance should not attend.
Class photos will be taken at the Concourse Theatre in Chatswood. Times will be listed in the recital handbook. All students are required to be present for their class picture.
After the group photo shoot, students will have solo portraits made in all of their costumes. There is no obligation to purchase photos.
Photos will also be taken during the performances and backstage during the recital. You will have access to these photos to preview and order in a digital format a few weeks after the event concludes.
We will hold our presentation day on {TBC} .
We give out trophies to individual students for their hard work and improvements over the year and this is also when we announce our Dancer of the Year awards. You are welcome to invite all your friends and family.
Keep in mind that we assess award recipients throughout the entire year. Always wearing a correct uniform, having hair in a bun, working hard in each class and having a high attendance rating are some of the first things we look for when choosing students to receive awards.
