Math 420

Essentials of Intermediate Algebra

Welcome to Math 420 : Essentials of Intermediate Algebra. For some, it's the route you're taking to Statistics & for others, it's a way to ease into your experience in College Algebra.

I have designed this website to assist those of you (and I know there are many) who have had prior difficulties with math or those who have legitimate fears when faced with math related ideas. Regardless of your past experiences in math or your purpose for taking this class, you are here for a reason. Some of you will perform well on the ideas learned in this course. That's great!!! Please take the time to help others in the discussion boards. Give pointers on how you've found success. Others will not always perform to the level you would like, but I am confident that changing your mindset about your mathematical ability will allow you to be successful.

Use the site as a tool to make you a better, more confident math student!!!

Announcements

Assessment #1 will be on Tuesday, April 30. You can access the topics list here. Make sure to practice the pages from your class handbook. Keep the topics list as a checklist. Ensure that you are able to do each of the types of problems, on your own, start to finish, without referring back to anything. If you can't do this before the exam, then you won't be able to do it during the exam. Good luck.

You can also access the Math Success Center website for times it is open, to make tutoring appointments, or to see what workshops or learning groups fit into your schedule.

One of the most important resources you will use! Make tutoring appointments and check out the schedule for workshops and learning groups
