"In order to say yes to your priorities, you have to be willing to say no to something else."
Create a task list with everything you would like to get done, including activities for school, personal, and social.
Organize your task list into three categories (Big, Medium, & Small), based on level of importance as well as urgency.
Prioritize by starting with the big tasks and working your way down to the small tasks.
Prioritizing Your Daily Schedule
To prioritize, ask yourself:
When is this assignment due?
How much will the assignment affect my grade in the class (how much is it worth)?
Is this for a class I struggle with?
Is this a type of assignment I have struggled with in the past?
Make a to-do-list of:
What needs to be done today?
What needs to be done today for tomorrow?
What needs to be done this week?
What is coming up next week and beyond?
-The work that is due earliest should probably take top priority. Work first on what is due first.
-Point value is a close second priority. A paper worth 100 points needs more attention than a worksheet worth 5 points.
-If it is for a class that you have struggled with, make sure to start on the assignment earlier than normal, so you have the opportunity to ask your teacher questions.
-If it is a type of assignment (presentation, paper, worksheet, group project etc.) that you have struggled with in the past, start it earlier than normal so you have time to review it and make corrections.
