How do you figure out what you want to do after high school? There are so many choices, so much to think about.Â
The first step is taking an inventory of different things:
Personality type--Are you a loner or do you like being around a lot of people? Do you like to be in charge or do you like to follow? These are a few things you need to figure out before choosing a career.
Learning style--How best do you learn? If you are an auditory learner and you get into a job field where there is a lot of reading, will that career best fit you?
Activities--What types of activities and interests to do have? Do you like helping people, or do you like fixing things, or do you like to create things? Looking at the types of activities you enjoy will help narrow down some career choices.
Values--What do you value in life? Money, time, family & friends, prestige. Look at what is most important to you and seek a career that matches those values.
In order to answer these questions, you will take a series of surveys and quizzes. As you go through the surveys be honest with your answers as this will give you better results.
