Summary Statement:
Positioned at the top of your resume, the summary statement gives the hiring manager a snapshot of your skills and accomplishments. Think of it as your resume’s thesis statement. It gives an overview of you with enough detail to entice the manager to continue reading the rest of the document.
Keep it short and focused. It is correct to use either complete sentences or bullet points. Whichever style you choose, use no more than three of either. Focus on the following information:
Professional-sounding title
Job-related accomplishments
Truthful highlights of experience and training
Experience:
You need at least one work experience; babysitting, yard work, household chores, community service
If it is a person or family, list "The Smith Family"
For address, you can just put the city and state
Under skills you can list:
Certifications, i.e. CPR/First Aid, CERT, Typing, Customer Service
Soft Skills--see examples on the Resume Skill Statements Below
Hard Skills--i.e. welding, Photoshop, HTML/CSS coding, Microsoft Office, etc.
Activities you can list:
Band, choir, orchestra
Sports
Clubs
References
You need three adult references that are not relatives.
When you list your references, take out the words and replace with your information
List Name, Phone, and Relationship (i.e. Coach, Mentor, Family Friend, Co-Worker)
