Did your grown-up have music class in school when they were younger?
Did your grown-up ever play piano?
Did your grown-up ever sing in a choir?
Did your grown-up ever play a woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument?
Did your grown-up ever play a string instrument?
Did your grown-up ever sing or play an instrument in a rock band?
Has your grown-up ever gone to a concert?
If your grown-up has been to concerts, which concert was their favorite?
What style of music is your grown-up’s favorite?
Which singer or band is your grown-up’s favorite?
What is your grown-up’s favorite song?
Does your grown-up know how to sing a song in a language besides English?
Part 4: Practice 1st Grade Rhythms
Read the rhythms using your speaking voice. These rhythms include the notes ta, titi, and rest.
Read the rhythms with your speaking voice and clap them with your hands at the same time.
Find a grown-up, brother or sister, or stuffed animal and teach them how to say and clap the rhythms.
