Hi 1st Grade!
Please work on these music activities for approximately 30 minutes on one of the following days: April 28, 29, 30, or May 1. Have fun!
Start by watching this short video from Mrs. Kapustka to hear about today's lesson!
Remember:
A percussion instrument is an instrument that you either strike, shake, or scrape in order to play it.
Percussions instruments can also be sorted by their tone color into the categories wood, metal, and membrane.
Part 1: Percussion Instrument Website
The website Classics for Kids has a great page about percussion instruments. Click this link go to the website and listen to the instruments: https://www.classicsforkids.com/music/instruments.php?family=Percussion
On that website:
Click the triangle shaped play button by the word “Pronunciation” to hear the name of an instrument.
Click the triangle shaped play button by the word “Example” to hear a song that uses that instrument.
Can you find instruments that are wood, metal, and membrane?
Part 2: Music Seesaw Activity
Log into your Music Seesaw page.
Go to the Activities section of your Music Seesaw page. Open and complete the activity called: “Wood, Metal, Membrane - Show Me What You Know”
The directions are included in the activity. You will draw, write, or use the microphone to tell me one instrument that goes in each category (wood, metal, membrane). You can use instruments you already knew about or you can use an instrument you learned about on the website Classics for Kids.

If you want, on the Music Seesaw page, you can even send me a picture, note, or voice recording telling me about your favorite instrument from Classics for Kids!
