6th Grade Social Studies will begin exploring ancient civilizations of Egypt and China. Students will explore the various GRAPES categories of each civilization while discussing their impact on today. Sixth grade students have been learning about pharoahs, mummification, and the important of the Nile River. As we move into our Ancient China Unit, students will be learning about the various dynasties and exploring the goegraphy of Ancient China by creating a relief map
Students have just completed their Service Learning Projects. There ideas for making the community a better place have been very diverse and impressive.
We are now beginning to learn about Politics in Early America. Students will discuss the Presidents Washington through Jackson and the impacts their choices made on early democracy.
In 8th Grade Social Studies, we are reaching the end of our World War II Unit. Students have been learning about the different dictators and their need for power. We have also covered the attack on Pearl Harbor causing the United States to enter the war, the fighting in the Europe and Pacific, and the dropping of the atomic bombs bringing about the end to the war.
In our upcoming unit, The Cold War, students will continue to see this battle for power between the United States and the Soviet Union.
