Trauma-Informed Practices to Help Students Heal - Series THIS SESSION IS NOW AT CAPACITY AND CLOSED.
The Union Response to Students’ Stress and Trauma is a training initiative to bring trauma-informed and trauma-responsive practices to all schools in our district.
Children face many adverse childhood experiences—violence, abuse, neglect, loss and more. The result can be psychological trauma, which interrupts healthy development and can lead to mental illness. Professional learning on trauma-informed practices is the union’s way of helping school-based members to promote mental health among all students.
This curriculum provides leadership development and education, combining four important pillars of the change process needed within our schools:
Healing from trauma
Race and gender equity
Social emotional learning
Positive school discipline
