S.E.E.D. (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity)
SEED is an international project founded by Dr. Peggy McIntosh over 30 years ago. It promotes change through self-reflection and interpersonal dialogue and builds capacity for more equitable curriculum, workplaces, and communities. Topics explored through this 10-session course may include—but are not limited to—Ethnicity, Culture, Race, Class, Gender, Sexuality, Ability, Learning Differences, Mental Health, School, Systems, Frameworks, and Justice. SEED’s unique methodology involves:
facilitating ongoing, structured, group conversations in which all voices can be heard
examining how our own stories relate to social systems
learning from the lessons of our own lives as well as from others and carefully selected readings, videos, etc.
turning oppression and privilege into agency and action
