Details
Staff will meet approximately once a month over the course of the school year.
Staff will learn and implement interdisciplinary strategies to leverage students' cultural and linguistic diversity in their classes. They will engage with text, share ideas and resources, embed strategies in their lesson planning, intentionally design their classroom space and informally observe their peers.
Details
We will use the book Culturally Responsive Teaching for Multilingual Learners as the framework for learning. There will be 6-8 total experiences including group discussions and learning walks. This experience will take place from October through February.
Staff will participate in monthly discussions about the sometimes awkward moments of working in education. All of us will experience them, so how can we learn from them? How might our fear of failure and making mistakes affect the way we learn, teach, and work with our students and peers? We'll consider both the student and staff perspectives in our conversations.
Details:
We will use the book Embarrassment and the Emotional Underlife of Learning as the framework for our discussions. There will be 6 meetings with readings assigned between discussions.
Teachers will participate in learning walks around Prospect and observe their amazing colleagues with the purpose of rediscovering your "why"; why you love teaching, why you choose the lessons you plan, and every other "why" that goes into your craft. Katie and Erik will lead reflections during zero hour after each walk; one learning walk, one reflection, repeat. Teachers will be paired with staff during their planning period so no substitute will be required. Substitutes can be provided as an option.
Details:
Staff will spend 4 class periods total in colleagues classrooms. The goal would be to visit 2 different teachers in one block. There will be a few weeks between each reflection meeting to complete the learning walk. By the end of this experience staff will have visited between 4 and 8 colleagues classrooms.
Staff will attend 4 reflection meetings during zero hour with the other staff that choose this option. The meetings will be set on a Tuesday morning, approximately once per month between October and February.

Staff will meet as a cohort monthly throughout the school year.
We hear a LOT about self care. Our goal is to move away from what is too commonly known as self care and dig deep into factors that truly impact teacher wellness so we are able to sustain our energy, focus, and passion throughout the entire school year. We will use a variety of resources such as Burnout, Onward, and podcasts and articles to converse, reflect, and pinpoint actionable ways we can show up daily to be the best for our students and maintain a sustainable work/life balance.
Details:
Staff will meet as a cohort 8 times throughout the school year.
