Cavite State University (CvSU)–Carmona Campus, through the Extension Services Office and the Department of Teacher Education, in collaboration with the Future Educators’ Society, conducted a training titled “Walking Together How to Assist the Mobility of the Blind” on March 21, 2026, at CvSU-Carmona. The activity aimed to equip participants with fundamental knowledge and practical skills in assisting learners who are blind or visually impaired, thereby promoting inclusive and supportive learning environments.
The program commenced with an opening prayer, followed by welcome remarks from Asst. Prof. Jocelyn B. Siochi, chairperson, who highlighted the importance of inclusivity in educational practices. A pre-assessment was then conducted to determine participants’ prior knowledge of the topic.
The main session was delivered by Ms. Ronalyn M. Manongsong, invited resource speaker, who provided an in-depth discussion on guided mobility techniques and best practices in assisting blind learners. The session incorporated demonstrations and practical insights to ensure that participants gained both theoretical understanding and applicable skills. An open forum and question-and-answer segment followed, allowing participants to seek clarification and engage in meaningful discussion.
A reflection activity was conducted wherein participants shared their insights and key takeaways from the training. This was followed by a hands-on training activity, as well as a post-assessment and evaluation to measure learning outcomes and the overall effectiveness of the session.
The program concluded with the awarding of certificates to participants, followed by closing remarks from Dr. Ronlie RJ A. Espeleta, leader of Project DAPAT and department extension coordinator, who emphasized the importance of sustaining inclusive practices in education. The activity ended with the playing of the CvSU Hymn.
