Stage Band
Stage Band is a co-curricular performance music class and ensemble for 7th and 8th grade band members* that focuses on playing many musical styles in a jazz big-band format. Students learn unique stylistic skills in Latin, jazz, rock, reggae, and pop styles and the basics of improvisation. Stage Band typically performs in March and May band concerts as well as Cabaret Night, the CVSD Jazz Festival, and the Discover Jazz Festival in Burlington!
We meet on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 7:20-7:50am in the band room. Students can enter the building directly through the door at the end of the C wing starting at 7:10am.
* students not enrolled in the SCS Band program may participate on instruments that are not directly instructed in the program (guitar, bass, piano keyboard, & drum set) . Experience is required and instructional support outside of school will likely be necessary.
