KUD's (Knowledge, Understandings, Do's) are working documents that give design to educational outcomes. They list the content knowledge to inform the skills (the Do's) that we will see, hear, and assess. Teachers want students to connect the larger ideas related to the knowledge and skills -- and that are often transferable across discipline. Therefore, the KUD frames the knowledge. skills, and understandings that help students see the overall thinking over time.
