Google has added an embedded screencast tool on Chromebooks. We encourage staff and students to use that. Your recordings are saved to Google Drive.

To access it, click on the O on the bottom left to view your apps and look for the icon above.

Screencastify

Screencastify is a Chrome extension for screencasting.

Note: As of August 2022, the district is no longer paying for Screencastify Unlimited accounts. The free version can still be used.

Adults and students may add the Screencastify extension. Once that's done, click the icon on your extensions bar to start recording your screen. Click again to stop. Your recording is saved to Google Drive

WeVideo

WeVideo can also record your screen. Or it can be used to edit video recorded in Screencastify or other apps (splicing out mistakes, adding text, etc.)

Awesome Screenshot

Awesome Screenshot is a Chrome extension that is installed for our students. We highly recommend that adults add it too! Not only can it be used to capture a screenshot and annotate an image with elements like arrows, blurring, or titles, it can also be used for screencasting. Just click the Record tab and get started.
