SeeSaw provides student-driven digital portfolios and simple parent communication.
CVSD rosters Seesaw for Schools in grades K-4 through Clever.
Please go through the Clever portal to access Seesaw if you are in K-4.
Additional grades/classes in some schools include grades 5-8 at SCS, PreK at SCS - use app.seesaw.me to log in.
Create your activity. This might be one from the general Seesaw library that you’ve adapted or one that you created on your own.
Use this form to share that activity with those that administer the Seesaw accounts for our district.
The curriculum coordinators will review it and then the DLLs will add it to our district library.
Where to post announcements and messages and the differences between! (thank you to Jodi Sanders, SCS, for compiling this)
Journal (the big green + button):
This should feature student work.
It is better used if the student is either part of the work or in the photo/video being shared.
This is not generally the place for announcements from the teacher, because those announcements are not student work.
Families receive an email notification telling them work has been added to the journal.
Announcements - top of the page under "Messages" button:
Use this when you are sending to large groups - newsletters, announcements, events, etc.
You can choose at the top of the message whether it goes to students, families, or teachers.
Recipients cannot reply to the announcement.
Families receive an email with the announcement embedded - this is why it may look like your announcement wasn't viewed in Seesaw.
Messages - top of the page under "Messages" button :
Use this when you need to connect with just a family or two, anything private, things you want them to be able to respond to.
Recipients CAN reply to the messages and everyone on the message will see it and be able to reply. (This can create the dreaded "reply all" snowball.)
Families receive an email with the message embedded - this is why it may look like your message wasn't viewed in Seesaw.
