It's great to be back! Two of our P6 Outdoor Explorers made this film to give you just a few ideas of the things you could do for this site, including trampolining, rock painting, making a fire (with adult supervision, of course) and gardening. If you do any of these activities or anything else outside in school, the community or your garden, just send us in a film or photo and we will try and include it in future Outdoor Explorer editions.

At this time of year we begin to see some of our tallest flowers at their very best. Even in Scotland, where we don't always see the best of the sunshine, our sunflowers can grow very, very tall, as you can see from this photograph from one of our Outdoor Explorer team.
Can you send us any pictures of sunflowers that you have in your garden? Or draw or paint a sunflower like our two Explorers have done on their plant pots? Perhaps, you might find something else that you have found interesting to see or do whilst you are out and about in your garden or the forest. Whatever it is send it into us using the collection box below and we will be able to feature it on our Outdoor Explorers website.
Laura and Mrs Aitken have been looking after their sunflowers - they are enormous. Over the next few weeks we will get out our measuring tapes to see who at Smithton Primary has grown the tallest sunflower.
Hedgehogs are one of Outdoor Explorers favourite animals and we love this one that was made in class using clay and sticks. Why don't you join us at Outdoor Explorers by sending us something that you have made or drawn and we can then put it on this site. Just use the collection box below.
The hill walk up to top of Fyrish is always worth if for the amazing views. If you go on a walk anywhere or do something interesting in your community or garden, send us a photo using the collection box below.
You can gain a lot of information about a trees age, size and identity from just giving it a hug. We would like to collect some photos, pictures or films of you using the outdoors to have fun with maths.
