The University of Alabama offers the Alabama Advantage Scholarship as a need-based scholarship for in-state students.
After scholarships and grants have been applied, Alabama Advantage funds up to $5,000 needed to cover the remaining cost of UA’s in-state tuition. The scholarship is renewable for four years, or eight semesters, so long as the student remains eligible.
To qualify for the Alabama Advantage Scholarship, students must:
Be an Alabama resident.
Submit an application for admission and all supporting documents by December 5 to maximize scholarship opportunities.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and meet the Pell Grant eligibility requirements.
Submit all financial aid package requirements and receive financial aid award by May 1.
Enroll full time with at least 12 credit hours per semester.
Maintain a 2.0 cumulative UA GPA.
