SAVE THE DATE!!!! 2026 DESIGN EXPO IS SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY JUNE 5th IN THE CHENEY TECH GYMNASIUM!
The MDET Departments website showcases student achievement as well as lets potential employers see what our students are capable of. Students have a portfolio website they are responsible for maintaining that is linked to their classes page of this site.
The Junior class went on a field trip to the Lee Company in Westbrook where they were exposed to hydraulic Plug Design as well as Screen Manufacturing, Check Valve Design and Manufacturing, and Machine Engineering.
The students also got to take a short tour of the Early Manufacturing Museum that the Lee Company hosts in one of its 13 buildings. On the tour, students got to see a hydrogen fuel cell in action as well as got to see rocket engines from the Saturn Rockets and even engines from the Apollo missions.
A special thanks to the men and women of the Lee Company for showing our students exactly what it means to be an engineer in our modern day and age. We certainly learned a lot while on the trip!
Congratulations to Senior MDET student Oliver Moskites for earning his Solidworks Associate Level Certification. Oliver is now the first of many of our students who will be earning this credential this year. In Oliver's post exam press conference, he was quoted as saying, "Those tutorials that Mr. Jordan showed us time and time again really came in handy! I felt over prepared for the exam almost."
