MDET 4 Day Exploratory is On!

Students returning to MDET for the 4 Day cycle will get to experience a wide variety of design challenges throughout their time in the Department.

Starting off the 4 day students will be building and designing a puzzle cube. Success criteria includes fully defined drawings of the models and a copy of an Animated Assembly.

On the second day, students will design and build a yoyo that we will manufacture on one of our 3D printers.

On day 3 we will talk about how we get people to and from space safely and how that will relate to our final 4 day project, a bottle rocket.

Weather pending on the 4th day we will be taking the rockets out to the turf field behind Cheney Tech. We are going to file flight plans and discuss what worked well and what we would change if we did the project again. This gives us some insight into the day to day of an MDET student because they should be designing and then building their projects, testing them to see how they can improve their projects and create advances in and using technology.

Shop Uniforms

MDET Students may wear their black academic uniforms or their exploratory uniforms in trade until October of their Sophomore year. Then students are required to be in the MDET uniform which can be purchased from the darter site for Cheney Tech.
