Extended Learning Mentor Grade Level or Position:  K-8th grade Classrooms

Description of the Opportunity: 

Assisting in the Classroom:

Helping with lesson preparation and delivery, ensuring materials are ready and organized.

Providing individual attention to students who need extra help with understanding concepts.

Facilitating classroom activities and discussions, ensuring all students are engaged.

Assisting with the management of classroom behavior and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Supporting students with special needs or learning difficulties, offering tailored assistance as required.

Leading Small Group Instruction 

Identifying students who would benefit from additional instruction in specific areas.

Designing and implementing activities that reinforce classroom learning objectives.

Offering support in areas where students may be struggling, such as reading, math, or science.

Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to the classroom teacher to inform ongoing instruction.

Leading Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Activities:

Planning and leading activities that promote SEL competencies, such as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.

Conducting group discussions, role-playing scenarios, and other interactive activities that help students develop emotional intelligence and social skills.

Addressing topics such as empathy, conflict resolution, stress management, and goal setting.

Helping to Provide a safe and supportive space for students to express their feelings and experiences.
