Hopkins Assigned ID & United States Social Security Number
When you were admitted to the ITGL Cohort you were sent an email that included your Hopkins Assigned ID. You were asked to keep that email. The Hopkins Assigned ID is a nine-digit number that has been used as your Hopkins government ID [SSN]. We will continue to use this number as your Hopkins government ID [SSN] unless you notify us that you have a new US social security number.
If you are issued a United States social security number after your initial admission to the program, please submit a Change of Information Form, found at http://education.jhu.edu/student-resources/office-of-the-registrar/forms-and-petitions/ along with a copy of your card to the Office of the Registrar. The completed form and the copy of your card should be emailed to: soe.registration@jhu.edu.
It is important that you notify the SOE Office of the Registrar about a new US social security number so that we can ensure any future requests for transcripts of other official documents can be processed for you.
If you need additional support (you cannot locate the email with your Hopkins Assigned ID – “988” number) please request additional support through SEAM’s online form.
(Select Browse All Topics > Select Records and Registration > Select Temporary ID inquiry>Select Sign In to Request Support.)
Verification of Degrees and Enrollment Information
Requests for verification of enrollment or degrees earned can be submitted using the Verification Services form.
Students can print using their J-Card at select printers on campus. In order to use your J-Card to print, you will need to add money to your J-Card. Please visit the following page to learn how to refill your J-Card:
Developed exclusively for Johns Hopkins University, the new email signature generator automatically populates your directory information into a designed, JHU-branded email signature for your official Johns Hopkins (.edu) email account (JHED login required).
Writing Support for Students
SOE has partnered with the Homewood Writing Center to offer peer tutoring for SOE students. The Writing Center offers individual 45-minute conferences with trained peer tutors on any type of writing. Visit the Writing Center website to schedule an appointment and complete your registration in WCOnline, the center’s scheduling software. Make sure to click on the School of Education schedule.
A SSN - Social Security Number is required. Please use the assigned University identification number that is your government ID at Johns Hopkins that was sent to you via email when you were accepted into the program. The email came from SOE.REGISTRATION< soe.registration@jhu.edu>.
If you need a transcript that shows your degree, select the option, "after degree is awarded."
Registration
ITGL students will be instructed when to register each semester.
During the fall and spring semesters, qualified, degree-seeking students in the Johns Hopkins School of Education may register for courses at another division at Johns Hopkins University.
Interdivisional registration can be done by submitting an SOE Registration Form with the home school’s course and section number through SEAM's online form.
The School of Education student’s faculty adviser must approve the interdivisional registration (either by signing the box on the form or the adviser can email their approval to the student and the student must upload the email with the form). Documentation of the approval should accompany the Registration Form. All appropriate approval signatures from the School of Education must be obtained before the registration can be processed.
School of Education students pay the per-credit rate of the school offering the course.
Interdivisional Registration
During the fall and spring semesters, qualified, degree-seeking students in the Johns Hopkins School of Education may register for courses at another division at Johns Hopkins University. Please visit the following page to learn more about Interdivisional Registration:
Note: Enrollment into courses in other JHU divisions is not guaranteed and is subject to availability, pre-requisites, and enrollment policies in the JHU division offering the course.
