Description of the Opportunity: 

Helicon AI Institute designs and hosts AI-enhanced educational programs aimed at building learner agency. Our institute is fi rst and foremost concerned with enabling people to learn, grow, and create based on their intrinsic motivations. We advance this mission through educational seminars, long-term programs, and curriculum design. Current projects include AI integration & instructional design at New Generation Myanmar and an AI Community App Development program for Baltimore high-school students.

Quinton Covington is the Founder and CEO of Helicon AI Institute and will be the mentor for this Extended Learning Opportunity. He is currently a lab manager and researcher at the Krieger Psychological and Brain Sciences Department at Johns Hopkins University. Quinton also cofounded New Generation Myanmar K-12 Virtual School where he now serves on the BOD and as Director of Research & Information Technology. He has experience with Academic Research, Curriculum Development, Management & Leadership, and Entrepreneurship.

Students who participate in this Extended Learning Program can expect to participate in curriculum development, research, program design, and prompt engineering. Helicon AI Institute believes in the responsible use of modern tools to accelerate and enhance program development. ITGL students will be expected to use Generative AI, Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheet, Drive, etc.), and gmail. Licenses and subscriptions will be provided by Helicon AI Institute.
