Artist Statement

Where does one begin with the dreaded artist statement? I can imagine, most don’t like to write about it, or know where to start. Well, let's make it easy. My name is Felix Huaman Jr. I was born in Panama City, Panama and later was brought to the U.S. with my family where I was coined a U.S. citizen born abroad. While I can say that I have never been brought into any form of an artistic schooling, or education, one can just say I was self taught at a young age. I was fixated on art since as far as I can remember, only wanting to explore that talent the more I touched a pencil or looked at a piece of animation, or even just a cartoon/comic book. I craved the joy to draw on just about anything, only pushing my desires further through life. As an artist, I dabble in traditional sketches, painting, and digital illustrations. My work circles more on the joys and aspirations that are a part of my life from my expressed opinions and support of the military, or the joys of the supernatural and superhuman, to my current theme: 'What’s in My Imagination’. Consider this something of a window into my life, and what has molded me into the quirky individual that I am today. May you gain an insight on how to express your life. I challenge you to find your joys and to express it freely! Be happy!
