To evaluate and analyze the impact of emerging PMS technologies on hotel operations and propose strategies for effectively adopting advanced PMS systems to enhance efficiency, data management, and guest satisfaction.

Situation

The Grand Horizon Hotel, a four-star establishment with 250 rooms, has been using a traditional, on-premise Property Management System (PMS) for over a decade. While it has served basic functions such as reservations, check-in/out, and billing, management has identified inefficiencies in data access, reporting, and integration with online booking platforms. With the growing competition and changing guest expectations, the hotel management is considering upgrading to a cloud-based PMS with advanced features such as mobile access, AI-driven analytics, and automation tools.
The management team must decide how adopting advanced PMS technologies, such as AI automation, mobile integration, and data analytics, could enhance operational efficiency and improve guest experience. However, the team is also concerned about challenges like data migration, system compatibility, cost, and staff adaptation.
