The TWIB (short for This Week in Band) is your go-to source for all things Cedar Springs Bands! Each week, the TWIB will keep you informed with important announcements, upcoming events, schedules, fundraisers, reminders, and more.

📅 2025-2026 Band Calendar Now Available

The Cedar Springs Bands calendar for the 2025-2026 school year is now live on our website! You can view it anytime at cedarspringsbands.com, and we highly recommend subscribing so you have every event right at your fingertips—no more guessing or missing dates!

A printed version of the calendar will also be sent home with your student on the first day of school.

This calendar includes all major events, including the 3–5 required evening performances your child will participate in this year. Don’t worry—the first required performance isn’t until October, so there’s plenty of time to plan ahead.

🎺 Instrument Info for the 2025-2026 School Year 🎷

7th and 8th Grade Band students will need to have their instruments ready to go on Thursday, August 21—don’t forget!

🎶 New 6th Grade Band Members – Welcome! You have a few great options to get your instrument:

• Rent-to-Own from Meyer Music or West Michigan Band
  You can rent online through their websites and have the instrument delivered directly to the school. It’s convenient and reliable! Rent-to-own instrument will be yours in three years, and all repairs and maintenance are covered during the rental period.

• Use a Personal Instrument you already own
  We recommend trusted brands like Yamaha, Conn, Jupiter, Selmer, and Bach. If you’re unsure about the brand or instrument quality, please check with a director.

• Use a School Instrument
  We have French Horns and Baritones available, as well as a limited collection of other instruments. These will be distributed during the first two weeks of school on a first-come, first-served basis, based on need.

🎵 No student should ever be without access to instrumental music. If you need help getting an instrument, we will make it happen. You belong here, and we’ll make sure you have what you need to succeed.

The Cedar Springs Music Boosters play a vital role in supporting our band students through volunteering, fundraising, and behind-the-scenes efforts at every performance and event. Whether it’s helping with uniforms, pit crew, concessions, or chaperoning, your involvement makes a big difference!

We’re asking all students to start gathering quality contact information—emails and phone numbers of friends, family, coworkers, neighbors—anyone who might want to support your musical journey. The more quality contacts you have, the more successful we’ll be!

Funds raised go directly toward student support, equipment, travel, and program needs—every dollar makes a difference.

With fundraising kicking off for the year, here are a few important guidelines to help keep everything running smoothly:

• Submit one payment per order—either one check or one PayPal transaction—made payable to Cedar Springs Music Boosters.

  • Checks: Payable to Cedar Springs Music Boosters

  • PayPal: Send to csbandboosters@gmail.com

• No cash will be accepted for any fundraisers.

• When turning in your order, place everything in the black box outside the Band Director’s office.
