Let’s be ready to make some music together! 🎵
Did you have a friend take a break from band and miss being part of the music, the energy, and the community? We want them back!
If you know someone who used to be in band and is thinking about returning — even just a little bit — send them to Mr. Weber or Mr. Nabozny ASAP. We’ll help get them back on track and back in the band family.
Let’s make music together again — it’s never too late to return to the Cedar Springs Band! ❤️🖤🥁🎺
The TWIB (short for This Week in Band) is your go-to source for all things Cedar Springs Bands! Each week, the TWIB will keep you informed with important announcements, upcoming events, schedules, fundraisers, reminders, and more.
📅 Released every Sunday evening, the TWIB is delivered straight to your school email and also available anytime at cedarspringsbands.com.

The Cedar Springs Bands calendar for the 2025-2026 school year is now live on our website! You can view it anytime at cedarspringsbands.com, and we highly recommend subscribing so you have every event right at your fingertips—no more guessing or missing dates!
A printed version of the calendar will also be sent home with your student on the first day of school.
This calendar includes all major events, including the 3–5 required evening performances your child will participate in this year. Don’t worry—the first required performance isn’t until October, so there’s plenty of time to plan ahead.
Make sure to check it out and stay connected all season long!

7th and 8th Grade Band students will need to have their instruments ready to go on Thursday, August 21—don’t forget!
🎶 New 6th Grade Band Members – Welcome! You have a few great options to get your instrument:
Rent-to-Own from Meyer Music or West Michigan Band
You can rent online through their websites and have the instrument delivered directly to the school. It’s convenient and reliable! Rent-to-own instrument will be yours in three years, and all repairs and maintenance are covered during the rental period.
Use a Personal Instrument you already own
We recommend trusted brands like Yamaha, Conn, Jupiter, Selmer, and Bach. If you’re unsure about the brand or instrument quality, please check with a director.
Use a School Instrument
We have French Horns and Baritones available, as well as a limited collection of other instruments. These will be distributed during the first two weeks of school on a first-come, first-served basis, based on need.
🎵 No student should ever be without access to instrumental music. If you need help getting an instrument, we will make it happen. You belong here, and we’ll make sure you have what you need to succeed.
Questions? Reach out to your band director—we're here to help!

Because who doesn't love a little Carolina Crown Tuning Sequence? The Carolina Crown Brass Tuning Sequence is a warm-up we use to get everyone playing together in tune and with a great sound. It starts with long notes and simple exercises that help us match pitch, tone, and balance across the section. By listening carefully and adjusting, we learn how to lock in chords and blend as one unified sound. This routine isn’t just about tuning—it’s about building consistency, control, and the powerful brass sound Crown is known for.
