Start times posted on the calendar and TWIB are “ready to play” times. They are not arrival times. This is true of all events, not just rehearsals.
Show up to rehearsal early. Allow enough time to comfortably gather your equipment and materials and head to the field.
Always have everything you need for rehearsal. Instrument, music/flipbook, dot card, drill chart (leadership), etc.
Warm yourself up before Attendance Block. A “cold” fight song is not a good way to start the rehearsal.
Leave spaces cleaner than you found it, including the field, band room, drum room, locker room, and any space you find yourself in.
COMMUNICATE! Let a director and section leader know if you are absent or late. The more you communicate conflicts ahead of time, the more grace you find.
Have a great attitude, work ethic, and a willingness to learn.
The more you put in, the more you get out. So give 100% every time you're here, and leave a little better than you arrived.
The group functions efficiently and more positively when we’re all where we’re supposed to be, doing our job and helping each other out.
Wednesday we start daily band class meetings. Here is how we begin daily class rehearsals:
1:27/1:33pm: students are in the band room/drum room gathering equipment and heading to the field. The tardy bell is your “five minute” whistle.
1:30/1:36pm: 2 minute whistle from the drum majors. Students are out at the field, warming themselves up, and heading to their Attendance Block Dot.
1:32/1:38pm: Fight Song in Attendance Block
While stretches are taking place, drum majors will be going around taking attendance. This attendance is then entered into PowerSchool by the directors.
School Attendance Policy is in effect starting Wednesday. If you are missing from class for 10 minutes at any time, you are considered absent from class. 9 or more absences will put you in a probationary status. 13+ absences will result in No Credit for class.
Official class grades begin on Wednesday. Your attendance and participation in class are part of your Rehearsal Technique grade. You are a part of the team and we need you in with the group all the time.
All required band commitments were shared on April 16, 2025. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out the full calendar on the BAND App or our website. You can also subscribe to the website calendar to keep everything conveniently synced to your phone or device—so you never miss a beat!
Hey band! Want to kick off the freshmen's high school journey with some energy and school spirit? Come be a part of the Freshman Orientation Pep Band!
All incoming 9th graders are welcome — bring your instrument, play some fun pep tunes, and help us hype up the new school year! Once you're done playing, just pack up your instrument and jump right into the orientation activities with the rest of your class. It’s a great way to start the year, meet people, and make some noise (the fun kind)!
🎷 No sign-up needed — just show up and play!
5:15pm — Arrive at Band Room; wear Cedar Gear
5:30pm — PERFORM
6:00pm — Dismiss
