CORE Phonics Survey
• Evidence-Based: Developed by CORE (Consortium on Reaching Excellence), widely cited in phonics intervention research.
• Use: Administer by grade-level teachers/interventionists to assess mastery of discrete phonics subskills (short vowels, digraphs, blends, multisyllabic words). Use results to group students by specific phonics gaps for Tier II/III instruction. These can also be used to monitor progress after skill lessons by using the recording forms for that skill until mastery.
