What is Word Study?

Simply put, Word Study is providing opportunities for students to understand word patterns, sounds, and spellings.


Importance of Word Study:

Word Study helps students understand common traits of words so that they can read and spell more fluently. Understanding prefixes and suffixes helps students read words and know the context of the words. Word Study provides much needed repetition of words to help students retain knowledge.
