Post Reading
Post reading strategies help students evaluate the meaning and relevance of what they have read. They should be able to determine whether they fulfilled their purpose for reading during the post-reading activity/strategy. Post reading activities and strategies should have students to one or more of the following:
Answer questions asked during reading
Identify new information learned or old ideas changed
Identify main idea, sequence, key points
Synthesizing
Cite textual evidence
WRITE and DISCUSS:
argue a point or summarize or take a perspective
Several post reading strategies are linked below. The instructions are attached and many of them also have graphic organizers for students. If you need any assistance using these strategies do not hesitate to reach out to Crystal Parten at: cparten@csraresa.org
