Testing your soil for pH levels.   You will work all hour to determine your soil's pH and then the lab itself will be due on Monday

Plate tectonics quiz!   I hope everyone prepared well for today's quiz over Topic 4.1 .   We will begin our discussion of soil after the quiz.

Election Day.   You have NO school and I have professional development all day.  Be sure to encourage everyone you know who is eligible to get out and vote today.  Their vote counts!

Topic 4.2.  A discussion of how soil forms and how easily it is removed from Earth's surface through erosion.

Nitrogen soil testing.  YYou will be testing your soil for nitrogen levels and then we will be discussing more about weathering.

We are testing your soil for Phosphorus levels today.   Come prepared to do some serious soil testing - safety googles and good lab techniques are essential.

Topic 4.3 Discussion.   Reviewing soil horizons, and introducing soil texture and soil types by biome.

We are testing your soil today for Potassium today.  Remember to follow all safety rules including goggle use, being careful with chemicals, and washing your hands after finishing the lab.  Wipe your table down with disinfectant.

Soil humus.  You will be testing your soil for humus levels today, not hummus.

Determining soil texture.  You will be investigating the percent sand, silt, and clay for your soil in class today.

Soil Composition and Properties.  Our last discussion about soil takes place today.  Make sure you come with any lingering questions you've accumulated as you've pondered this very important topic. 

Today is your Unit 4A test!  Be certain you are ready to be assessed on Topics 4.1, 4.2, and 4.3 on today's Unit 4A Test.

Introduction to Earth's atmosphere.   Today's lab will help you to understand how Earth's atmosphere varies from the Earth's surface up to space

The importance of Global Wind Patterns.   We will begin our look at how global atmospheric circulation takes place and its implications. 

Watersheds!.  We'll finish our discussion of global winds today and briefly begin an important look at watersheds - their characteristics and how we should manage them.

Orographic Lifting!  This sounds pretty difficult but the concepts behind how rainfall is distributed on the sides of mountains is pretty interesting to investigate today in lab.

Watersheds and Seasons.  We will finish our discussion of watersheds today and also complete a thorough discussion of solar radiation and how it creates Earth's seasons. 

How to Complete Your Soil Video.   Look on Google Classroom for extensive information on how to complete the soil video of your presentation to your parents.  Remember, the video is due by Midnight on Sunday, December 1st and the actual soil test report must be handed in on Monday at the beginning of class.
