Writing the Math FRQ.   Students will be working as a group to solve and write 2 math FRQs.  FRQs should be scored using the rubric provided on Google Classroom.

Writing the "Analyze an Environmental Problem and Propose a Solution.   We will practice two (2) Question 2 FRQs from previous years.

No School.   Teacher Professional Development all day. Since teachers have PD today you get to stay home and study for the APES Exam all day.  What a great gift!

APES Exam.   A quick review by popular demand - it's the Phosphorus Cycle!  We will also write an FRQ about El Nino.

Last Minute APES Exam Review.   We will use Quizlet today to have a fun review of whatever units everyone wants to take a quick look through.

APES Exam.   Today is the big day!  Do your best, you are more than an exam score.

APES Debrief.   It will be a pretty "chill" class as I help you wind down from all the hard work you've put into passing the APES exam.  We will do a couple of post tests today.

APES Post Test.    I know, I know ... a 100 question Post Test right after the APES exam?  Bear with me, we need to get it out of the way.  Remember, I'll be absent today and attending a GLOBE Research Symposium at the University of Toledo.  Wish our fellow participating APES students good luck today!  Don't forget to bring your textbook to class tomorrow - no need to have it at home anymore!

Turbidity lab.   An introduction to importance of measuring turbidity and its consequences for aquatic life.

Learning the protocols for fecal coliform.   We never had the chance to test the Rouge River for fecal coliform so we will begin this important testing today.  Students will prepare their petri dishes for the Fecal Coliform lab so that they can be incubated the next two days. 

Turbidity Lab.   We will discuss the water quality paramter of turbidity and the role it plays in water quality.  Students will use a lab grade turbidimeter to determine the turbidity (in NTUs) from a sample of Rouge River water.

More on Turbidity.   We will check fecal coliform growth again today and work on some water testing paperwork.

Fecal Coliform.   Students will do their final read of the number of colonies of fecal coliform on their petri dish.  Reminder, bring what you are contributing to the "edible soil profile" lab tomorrow.

Edible Soil Profiles.   This lab assignment will be counted as a test grade.  Be sure you can explain each horizon of the soil profile and the biome it represents.

Reviewing the Fecal Coliform and Turbidity Labs.   Students will complete their two labs from the previous week and prepare for Wednesday's two (2) lab quizzes.

Total Solids and Temperature Labs.   Students will complete Day 1 of the total solids lab and complete the temperature lab and its associated lab questions.  No lab quizzes on these two (2) hydrology protocols.
