Two topics today!   We will be evaluating the FRQ from last Friday and discussing POPs, bioaccumulation and biomagnification  - all EXTREMELY important topics!

Sewage Treatment.   This is also known in a broader sense as wastewater treatment.  Knowledge of this topic is essential for mastery on the APES exam.

Solid Waste Disposal and Waste Reduction Methods.   I will be at the Science and Engineering Fair of Metropolitan Detroit all day working on making sure the junior division gets judged fairly by the many professional judges attending.  In my absence you will be studying and learning everything you possibly can for Topics 8.9 and 8.10.  Work hard!

How do do LD50 math.   We will practice how to construct and interpret lethal dose curves.

The effect of pollution on human health.   A look at the causal effects of pollutants on human health.  All missing work must be handed in by after school today.

Pathogens and Infectious Diseases.   This is a significant topic that requires close and careful study!

More pathogens and infectous diseases!   Infectious pathogens are one of the biggest scourges to human health and well-being (think COVID).  We will continue yesterday's activity and finish off class with some practice.

Unit 8 Review time!   Each student will pair up with their lab partner to complete a "magic squares" activity related to aquatic pollution.  We will also do some Quizlet team practice towards the end of class.

Unit 8 Test.   Please prepare to do your very best on this assessment!

Introduction to Unit 9.   You should be scared, very scared after this presentation - learn to use sunscreen and know the reasons why you need to protect your eyes and skin.
