Adventure Quest is an outdoor education class designed to introduce the students to nature, all while focusing on the concepts of communication, collaboration and team building. Our hope is for students to engage in exploration through a variety of games, curriculum, and initiatives. These types of activities can provide students with the opportunity to enhance their abilities to brainstorm ideas, make decisions, solve problems, build cooperative teams, and resolve conflicts.
IPAQ is a co-taught course that blends the curriculum of two of Beacon Hill's connections classes, International Perspectives and Adventure Quest. We strive to create a safe and supportive environment where students choose to experience a variety of activities that promote self-awareness, leadership, and teamwork with an emphasis on outdoor skills. We develop ecological literacy through plant identification, varied strategies to grow and prepare food, bike riding, wilderness first aid, and leave no trace strategies that promote sustainability.
