It is now a common occurrence to have police officers in most school campuses, "During the 2021-22 academic year, approximately 45% of US public schools reported having sworn law enforcement who routinely carried a firearm" (National Association for Education Statistics), considering how this study was researching the 2021-22 academic year, the number of SRO's (Student Resource Officers), most likely increased a large amount as well. SRO officers are very beneficial to scholars, giving them advice, and just being another way to help the students to thrive. A school threat is less likely to happen when they realize that they have a real life trained professional on campus all the time. Not to mention how a professional police officer would most definitely over power the average student, or even adult at school.
