We value what our student population is interested in and want to build stronger relationships with all organizations for future opportunities. Through partnering/working together, all groups can be stronger.
The following policies are intended for all Affiliated Student Organizations to the Allen School:
No individual group may cold-call or reach out to any Industry Affiliate Partner without first notifying and receiving approval from the Director of External Relations (Kay) via our ticketing system.
Any event hosted within an Allen School space that includes external partners (career/industry, alumni) must be authorized in advance by Kay via our ticketing system.
Different types of Affiliated Student Organizations have varying levels of engagement with external partners that we recognize. Student Groups are expected to utilize the following behaviors when working with external organizations.
Student Groups cannot cold-call/contact any external organizations without explicit approval from Kay.
Student Groups must cc Kay Beck-Benton (kbeck@cs.washington.edu) when communicating with any external organization.
When a non-Affiliated external organization contacts your Student Group, you must refer them to Kay for further communication; any following contact should continue to cc her.
Representing the Allen School - name/branding requirements: Please contact Kay for more details.
Things to consider:
In effort to ensure programming and career opportunities are not being monopolized, the External Relations Team will require all events that deal with external partnerships be open to all Allen School students, regardless of student organization membership.
Groups need to coordinate which groups ask which companies so we are not overwhelming the same teams with requests.
Please fill out the ticketing system to request or report an exchange with a company or alum. Be sure to cc Kay on any exchanges.
