WELCOME TO OUR 2025 - 2026 5TH GRADE BAND MEMBERS!

This page will provide important information for incoming 5th graders and their parents to help them get started and hit the ground running next year if they choose to be part of the 5th grade band!

As we go through our recruitment process for music classes next year, you are going to hear much more about band than choir. At Crestview Middle School, we STRONGLY encourage all students to try band in 5th grade. Why? The programs that students present in elementary school are VERY similar to the middle school choir experience, so they have already be part of a singing ensemble. Band is completely new and a very different experience! All students will be required to select either band or choir in 5th grade.

WHAT DO I NEED FOR 5TH GRADE BAND?

All students participating in 5th grade band will need the following items daily for class:

1. Working instrument with all necessary accessories

2. Sound Innovation Method Book - Book 1 for their selected instrument

3. A One Inch View Binder

4. A working pencil

SOUND INNOVATIONS METHOD BOOKS

All students will need a Sound Innovations Method Book for daily use in class. These can be purchased through most music stores, online, and through the Crestview Music Boosters. If you would like to purchase your book online, use the links below:
