Fun in First Team
Mrs. Gordon, Ms. Baumgardt, and Mrs. Edwards
Welcome to 1st Grade!
We are committed to creating a classroom environment where your child is valued, trusted and is an integral part of our family of learners.
Here you will find information, updates, and more for your child's first grade class. Please check this page weekly to be kept up to date with all the great things throughout the school year.
Important Announcements And Reminders
Thank you for partnering with us to make attendance a priority! Because of you, our 1st graders had the best attendance 3rd quarter! Your commitment to getting your child to school each day truly makes a difference! To celebrate, first grade had a popsicle party on May 1st!
We have learned about the patterns in nature: Day and Night. The changes in the seasons. As well as the patterns in the sky with the phases of the moon. We are continuing to learn about space. If you can help with signing up for some items needed in the link below, it would be greatlly appreciated.
The Art Auction will be next Tuesday, May 12 in the Gator Cafe. Come see student art, purchase your child's art for $5, or bid on the class project. There will be a Neon Glow room put on by Creativity. Hope to see you there!
Please make sure your child brings a jacket or sweatshirt to school with their name clearly labeled on the item's tag. As a friendly reminder, for a jacket/sweatshirt to be worn inside the classroom, it needs to follow dress code guidelines.
If there is a day-of change to your child's dismissal plan, please notify the front office by 2:30 so your child can be informed in time to go to the correct location. While we will do our best to accommodate transportation changes, we cannot ensure that last-minute requests can be implemented.
Please make sure your child brings a water bottle and a healthy snack to school every day.
Please have your child empty out their green folder each night and bring it to school every day. Folders are coming back full of papers.
Dress Code Reminder: Please visit the Crane Schools Site to review the district dress code policy. Students who violate the dress code will receive 2 verbal reminders. Continuous violation of the dress code will result in your child being sent to the office to wait for you to bring an outfit change. Only solid-colored sweaters, sweatshirts, or jackets will be allowed in the classroom.

It is crucial that they complete these activities on their own, without any help or guidance. This ensures they develop the necessary skills and understanding at their own pace.
Access Clever here to use Lexia and ST Math.
Your child's login information for Clever and ST Math is their 111 number and their password is their letter password.

Birthday Celebrations
All 1st-8th grade birthdays are celebrated once a month. Bringing in treats on individual birthdays is not permitted. First grade celebrates on the second Friday of the month unless noted otherwise. Your child's teacher will reach out to you requesting birthday items.
Birthday invitations need to be handed out to all students or if you are only passing out to individual invitations, your child is responsible for delivering them prior to entering the building. (e.g. outside prior to the school day starting, during morning recess). Each first grade class currently has 32 students.
Thank you for your help in following these procedures as it helps us start the day in an efficient manner. Please feel free to reach out if you need further clarification.
