Programs lengths can vary from 6 months to 2 years depending on the skills you want to acquire. These jobs are also paid on the job. 

The average salary will change depending on how many certifications you receive in addition to various skills you learn. While the average salary is $46,000, the top 10% in MA can go up to $135,000. 

Some curriculum includes: welding techniques and safety practices, blueprint reading, metallurgy and fabrication basics, and hands-on practice with equipment

Obtain various certification based on interest: AWS Certified Welder will be required.
