Enroll in a training program (apprenticeship programs are provided below)
Programs will take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years depending on the level you are hoping to achieve.
On-the-job training: 6,000-8,000 hours (Paid, hands-on experience)
Pay can be anywhere from minimum wage to $20/hour or more
Classroom instruction: Approximately 150-300 hours per year.
There are various avenues to go down with HVAC that highlight specific areas. The more qualifications you gain, the more training you will have to complete.
Examples include: Pipefitting, refrigeration, air conditioning tech, solar technician.
