Greater Boston JATC (Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee)

• • • Provides a comprehensive training program combining classroom instruction and on-the-job learning.

Greater Boston Building Trades Union

• The Building and Construction Trades Council, an umbrella group of 20 local construction unions, in partnership with more than 3,300 union contractors, provides the highest standards for workers in the construction industry. 

• This union has a collection of the following trades for those interested in a specific apprenticeship:

Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology (Boston, MA) 

• Offers an Electrician Certificate Program and an Associate Degree in Electrical Technology.

• Program covers electrical theory, wiring methods, and code compliance.

• Prepares students for state licensing requirements.

Massasoit Community College

• Electrical and Energy Systems program.

• Important Note: This program is intended for students who want to transfer to a 4-year program. 

Minuteman Technical Institute

• 10-month evening course designed to prepare students for a career as licensed electricians. 

• The program covers electrical theory, the Massachusetts Electrical Code, and practical skills, enabling students to work towards their required hours for a Journeyman Electrician license while offering foundational industry certifications like OSHA-10 and Hot Work Safety.
