CPS New Teacher Induction Program

The Cambridge Public Schools Induction & Mentoring Program is an essential component of our district’s approach to supporting beginning teachers as they develop and refine the competencies they need to be effective and culturally-responsive educators. It is also one of the requirements for Teachers who eventually wish to attain professional licensure in Massachusetts. 

New Teacher Induction Program Goals

The primary goals of the CPS Induction & Mentoring Program are to strengthen educator effectiveness and retention by providing beginning teachers with the tools they need to consistently demonstrate proficiency across all four Massachusetts Professional Teaching Standards. Educators who complete the program will also be expected to demonstrate proficiency across key indicators of cultural proficiency, aligned with the vision and mission of the Cambridge Public Schools.
