Resident Evil 9: Requiem: Explanation of the Story

The story begins when a series of mysterious deaths occurs at the Rainwood Hotel, a place already tied to a dark past. Grace, an FBI agent, volunteers to investigate, but her reasons were beyond duty. She is searching for the truth about her mother’s death years ago. When she arrives, the hotel immediately feels unwelcoming, with dim lights, strange markings, and overall a sense of danger. As she explores,s he discovers that the hotel was secretly used for experiments, and her mother was killed after uncovering this hidden operation.

As Grace continues her investigation, the danger increases. She enters an abandoned hospital connected to the hotel, where she encounters terrifying infected creatures. Some are fast and aggressive, like the pale woman in a white dress who stalks her relentlessly, while others are large, powerful monsters that chase her through the halls. These creatures are the result of a new virus created by Dr. Victor Gideon, a former Umbrella scientist. His invention of the viruses is different; it allows some infected to keep parts of their human behavior, making them even more unpredictable and dangerous.

Grace eventually learns that she is not just investigating, she is the target. Because of her mother's genetics, she has a natural immunity to the virus, and Victor planned everything to bring her there as the perfect test subject. This realization changes her mindset. Instead of just trying to survive, she becomes determined to stop him and uncover the full truth. Along the way, she must carefully manage limited resources and rely on stealth, showing how unprepared but resilient she really is. 

At the same time, Leon Kennedy arrives in Raccoon City after hearing about the incidents. He brings experience and combat skills, but he is also infected with the new virus, which slowly affects his thinking and behavior. The story shifts between Grace and Leon, showing two different styles. Grace focuses on survival and fear, while Leon focuses on action and fighting. Together, they discovered that the real experiment is hidden underground in the ruins of Raccoon City, where even more dangerous creatures and failed experiments are kept.  

In the final stage, Grace and Leon reach the underground lab and confront Victor, who has transformed into a powerful mutant using his own virus. After a difficult battle, they defeat him and destroy the lab, stopping the spread of the virus. In the end, Grace returns to the FBI office and honors her mother. Leon recovers and continues his mission, but the story leaves a final hint that some viruses are simply missing, suggesting that the threat is not completely over.
