On March 19, at a spring health conference hosted by Qinghai Provincial Health Research, experts shared something important. Spring is not just another season; it’s your best chance to reset your health for the entire year. Bai Huanqing from the Qinghai Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine explained that if you take care of your body now, you can avoid getting sick later.
In traditional Chinese medicine, spring is all about growth and rising energy. That means your body needs balance, not overload. Instead of taking too many supplements, the focus should be on keeping your energy flowing and stable. One of the biggest factors? Your mood. Stress, anger, and anxiety can throw your body off, so staying calm and spending time outside actually helps more than you think.
Exercise is also important, but don’t overdo it. Simple activities like walking, light jogging, or Tai Chi are enough to wake up your body. The goal is to feel refreshed, not exhausted. At the same time, don’t let the warmer weather fool you. Your body is still sensitive to cold. Keeping areas like your neck, back, and feet warm can prevent illness.
What you eat and how you live every day also make a difference. Go for warm, simple foods like yams and red dates, and avoid too much cold or sour food. Drinking tea and sticking to a routine. Sleeping before 11:00 PM and waking up early helps your body stay energized and balanced.
Overall, spring is your starting point. If you build a good habit now. A stable mood, light exercise, and a proper diet. You're setting yourself up to stay healthier and more energized.
