High school students from the Carle Place Key Club brought some creative projects to do at our preschool on February 11th during a special volunteer field trip. The high schoolers spent a few periods engaging in a variety of fun activities with the preschool children, including making colorful crafts and a special Valentine’s Day project that brightened the classrooms.
Many of the Key Club members expressed how much they love working with kids. Highlighting the opportunities our school gives to interact and build connections with younger children is both joyful and meaningful. “It’s amazing to see the smiles on their faces when we do activities together,” said one student volunteer. Many students who participated in the field trip agreed that they truly enjoyed the experience and found it to be a valuable and rewarding way to give to our preschool. The event not only allowed the high school volunteers to share their time but also strengthened the bonds between the two classes.
The preschool teachers and staff were equally enthusiastic about the visit. They praised the students for their creativity, patience, and willingness to engage with the children, noting that the day was as rewarding for the kids as it was for the volunteers.
With events like this, the Carle Place High School Key Club continues to make a positive impact on the community while fostering a spirit of service and compassion among its members.
